Dear Legacy Band Family,
I am writing to you today to confirm that our trip to Ireland in 2025 is a go! We are moving forward with all
preparations, and we hope that those of you who are still on the fence will consider joining us for the band trip of a lifetime!
We are super excited to share this opportunity with your children. It will be one of the most memorable
experiences for all of us! Marching down the streets of Dublin for an appreciative and admiring public is an incredible honor, and I can’t think of a better group of students, parents, friends, and family with whom to share it. The trip registration is still open, but the initial registration deadline is coming up this Monday, March 11, 2024. Don’t forget that travel insurance is required for all travelers. Consider the “Cancel for No Reason” policy to guard against any unforeseen circumstances. Also, please make arrangements to procure or renew your passports. If your passport expires within a certain time frame of travel your entry into a country may not be allowed. Please check the US passport website for passport validity dates. Ireland does not appear to have validity requirements, but I urge you to err on the side of caution.
Since unveiling the trip in February 2023, we have gone through a lot to make it happen. We brought the total trip estimate down $100,000 for the entire program, solicited your input in case we couldn’t reduce the cost, and provided all families with opportunities to fundraise and request financial assistance. My thanks to James Harper, Elsa Coates, and the Band Booster Board for their tireless work in sending out weekly information and making it available on our website.
We need more students to join us! We are planning on having a competitive winter season for guard and
percussion next Spring, so please don’t feel like you have to make a choice. If you are waiting to sign up, now is the time! We want every band student (that includes you, color guard!) to march with us and experience the wonderful, amazing culture of Ireland!
Sincerely,
Brian Ebert, D. Arts
