Urgent request for CDL drivers! CDL Class A drivers still needed for certain dates
Do you or someone you know have a Class A CDL?
We are still looking for semi-truck drivers to fill out our schedule to pull “Blue”, our 53’ equipment trailer, to marching competitions and football games. And having a roster of back-up drivers means that we can still get the band equipment to these events in case of scheduling conflicts.
In particular, we still do not have any drivers for:
- Oct. 2 (Fri.) Homecoming football game
- Oct. 17 (Sat.) Friends & Family Show
- Oct. 24 (Sat.) State (Semi-finals and Finals)

A HUGE thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped us endure and overcome the challenges that we faced during our first parade/competition yesterday! From the parade to the Fossil Ridge marching festival, and the incredible monsoon, we persevered and came away stronger than before.
Thank you food committee for taking such great care of us! Feeding us Chik-Fil-A in the Buc-ees parking lot was textbook resourcefulness…and somewhat ironic!
Thank you uniform committee for figuring out our new custom tops and shako wraps for the first time, and for making us look awesome!
Thank you logistics and pit crew for literally weathering the storm, making sure our expensive equipment was protected. I hope you dried off and got warmed up!
Thank you prop crew for working so hard to provide us with a world class set, and for the many pivots you all have had to face!
Thank you chaperones for keeping our students safe and in great spirits, and for being by their side every minute of the students’ day!
Thank you booster board, for all of your support and administration!

Changing gears, here are the reminders for a lengthy week of band….
9/22 3:30-7 Practice; 7-9PM Festival Volunteer Mandatory Meeting
9/23 Parent/Teacher Conferences
9/24 3:30-7 Practice
9/25 3:30-7 Practice (we will most likely end this practice earlier)
9/26 16th Legacy Marching Festival ALL DAY (itinerary coming…)
Also…
- Students will not be able to march if they have non-natural colored hair.
- Please, no finger nail polish, no long fingernails, no jewelry.
- Students need to have calf length black socks.
Festival Update
ALL middle school students can enter for free!! Bring their student ID for free admission. 2 parents also can enter for free with the student! Help spread the word to your middle school family friends!!
Legacy will perform at 4:15pm and at 9pm.
If you can come a little early or stay a little late to help cover part or all of one of the shifts below, please email me! Thank you!

Festival Volunteer Training will be on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7pm in the Auditorium. Please make every effort to attend, but if you cannot, please let Carla know.
**HELP needed! **
This season’s uniforms are in and they need some modifications. Guard is looking for parents who sew who would be willing to help us with alterations and/or some possible flag adjustments. If you are able to assist, please reach out to Colet () OR via cell 720-979-6788.
Dinkles were delivered a couple of weeks ago!! If you have PAID for them they are labeled and in the band room, please grab ASAP. If you have not paid for them, get your payment in asap. You must have your Dinkles by Legacy’s festival!!
Please reach out to if you have any questions or need a different size as we may be able to accommodate changes as we have a few extra Dinkles.
Don’t miss getting your Festival Shirt and/or Patch!
We will be selling Legacy Festival Shirts and patches before the volunteer meeting on 9/22! Shirts are $20 or 2 for $35. Patches are $6. Come by starting at 6:30. Cash (exact change please) or card/tap to pay accepted. Shirts and patches often sell out at the Festival, so don’t miss this presale for Legacy families!
**Parent Happy Hour! **
Come celebrate all our collective parental support crew accomplishments so far – festival, props, uniforms, feeding kids, chaperoning them, pushing pit, chauffeuring them, encouraging them to practice, etc! And fortify yourself for BANDTOBER!

Dine to Donate Fundraisers
Thank you to all who joined us at Old Santa Fe Grill on Wednesday. They donated 20% of their total sales for the night, so we make $1008 from this D2D!! Our next D2D is at Mod Pizza on Hwy 7 on Oct 7th.
Meal Plan
A special thank you to Nikki Gravesen for scrambling 40# of eggs for our breakfast burritos. It was a big effort, and I think our kids enjoyed the meal! Next Saturday is lunch at school and dinner at Thornton Middle School at Legacy Festival. We will be having croissant sandwiches for lunch and BBQ Pulled Pork Mac for dinner.
