Good Evening, Band Family!
Please see below for the June 15th weekly update:
FROM DR. EBERT
June 16th, 10AM – Leadership Team: Move equipment from stage back to band room. Custodians have done an excellent job cleaning the music rooms. Leadership Team, we need a few extra hands to help us push all of our equipment back and set the band room up for next school year. A couple of hours is all that is needed. Please be mindful of all NO ENTRY signs posted by the custodians as they are in the process of waxing the floors.
We will be submitting our custom uniform top order the week of June 22nd, so we will need all clothing measurements completed by then. Please make arrangements to finish that asap, or we will need to guess your student’s garment size.
Section check-ins…most of our section leaders have checked in with their members, and they report good improvements. These check-ins will continue throughout the summer and beyond, so keep up the excellent work!
For the students, please get outside and get active this summer. It is important that you can handle the exercise and the climate when we return together on July 13th. You have to make exercise a part of your day, just like practicing your instrument.
AJR RED ROCKS PERFORMANCE
Students Participating in the AJR Red Rocks Performance:
Permission slips were due on Friday, June 12th! These were used to finalize the roster for the AJR performance. No late permission slips can be accepted.
The itinerary for AJR will be coming out this week. Be on the lookout for an email with the itinerary attached!
Student playing tests are due starting this week.
COLOR GUARD
Save the Date: Color Guard Summer Kick-Off Saturday, July 11 2-4 PM (location is being finalized)
We are bringing parents, coaches, and color guard members together to kick off our exciting fall season! This meet and greet will include opportunities to meet each other, learn more about color guard at Legacy High School, talk to other parents and coaches about expectations, volunteer needs, and how to set the kids up for a successful year. Color guard members will engage in a team bonding activity during the parent meet & greet.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Photos Needed**:
**The Legacy guard sells previously used uniforms/costumes to clean out our storage and to help raise money for the program. We are in need of photos from past seasons (seasons from many years ago especially!) of these guard costumes in action. If you have past seasons action photos of guard members on the field, or know someone who does, please send them to Tracy Stephen at cntstephen@gmail.com.
UNIFORMS
If you have not been fitted for both a marching uniform and the show performance shirt, keep an eye out for emails from someone on the Uniform Committee. They will be requesting measurements to get the show performance shirts sized and ordered. For those still needing to be fitted for a marching uniform, they will let you know if there is an opportunity prior to the day of the AJR concert; otherwise, you will be fitted quickly that day before departure.

Job Spotlight: Bus Greeters!
What do they do? Bus greeters do exactly that. They greet the buses of students as they arrive to compete. They interact with the directors, giving them their packets of important info, and stamp the hands of the students on the buses.
Why is it fun? They get to give encouraging words and high fives to band students from around the state (and New Mexico)!
FRESHMAN FUNDAMENTALS!
If your student would like to earn a letter in band, have them start keeping track of concerts you attend (save the program!), and activities they do. A link to the lettering form in Schoology can be found on the forms page here: https://legacybands.org/docs-forms/. I recommend printing the form now and keeping track of the documentation in a (real or digital) folder so that you aren’t scrambling at the end of the year! I’ll include a heads up on free concerts in future emails.
Have a great week!!
