Good evening, Band Family!
Happy Summer!
Please see below for the June 21st weekly update:
FROM DR. EBERT:
Leadership Team (wind section leaders) send in your memorization videos please, and continue to report on your section’s progress. Such a great job so far! Thank you!
We will order the custom tops and guard uniforms before July 1st, so please take care of any remaining measurements.
Dates in the band calendar have been reserved at the school. These include the Tag Day/Band Photo, Friends and Family Show/Show and Tell, Craft Fair, and Parent meetings in August/April. Please take a look at the calendar. Spring semester is not fully complete yet, as we need to book the RMPA and RMCGA shows, etc.
I will be out of town from June 24th through July 7th. I will check on emails and try to respond to those of you still waiting for replies, but my main focus will be costumes/props for the fall show, possibly having the band play at the state capitol on August 1st for Colorado’s 150th, and the trip to Grand Nationals.
DRUMS ALONG THE ROCKIES
We are excited for Drums Along the Rockies this Saturday!!
Please keep an eye out this week for your actual tickets to get into the event (they haven’t been delivered to Jaimie yet).
She will also have important information regarding the event.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
It’s Drum Corps Season!
Have you ever wondered what “professional” marching band is like? Several drum corps groups are in town this week prepping for Drums Along the Rockies and are having “open to the public” rehearsals you can watch for free!
Here are two that we know of you can check out that are near each other and on the same day:
The Blue Knights
Thursday, June 25th 7pm
Loveland High School
The Blue Devils
Thursday, June 25th 6:30pm (full run through approximately 8:40pm)
Thompson Valley High School
Both of these groups are AMAZING!! If you can make it to see their rehearsal, it is worth it!
AJR RED ROCKS PERFORMANCE

We have had the opportunity to speak with AJR’s Management and their Band Leader, and while there will be some details we will figure out on the day, please follow the attached itinerary.
Note that on Monday, June 29th, we will have a rehearsal at Legacy before heading over to Red Rocks.

Job Spotlight: Bus Greeters!
What do they do? Bus greeters do exactly that. They greet the buses of students as they arrive to compete. They interact with the directors, giving them their packets of important info, and stamp the hands of the students on the buses.
Why is it fun? They get to give encouraging words and high fives to band students from around the state (and New Mexico)!
Freshman Fundamentals!
If your student would like to earn a letter in band, have them start keeping track of concerts you attend (save the program), and activities they do. A link to the lettering form in schoology can be found on the forms page, here: https://legacybands.org/docs-forms/. I recommend printing the form now and keeping track of the documentation in a (real or digital) folder so that you aren’t scrambling at the end of the year! I’ll include a heads up on free concerts in future emails.
