The performance at the state capitol may only require drum majors, winds, and battery. I am waiting to hear back from the event organizers if we can bring everyone (guard and front ensemble included).

Please make sure to have printed your part for all the pieces for the State Capitol performance immediately so that you can begin work on them. Also, bring the parts with you to the first day of Mandatory Camp. Anyone playing 2nd or 3rd part will play the available 2nd parts. Baritones, you will print trombone parts. Don’t forget to work on the National Anthem too. It was handed out to you last Wednesday. Reach out to your section leaders if you need assistance.
**Mandatory Band Camp **
Camp begins Monday July 27th.
- The first week of camp runs from 8AM to 3PM.
- The second week of camp runs from 3PM to 8PM. See below for change in week 2.
- 9 News will be on campus to interview us in the morning of July 30th.
- On July 31st we will perform for Westlake MS, and alongside WLMS enjoy lemonade provided by Dunkin Donuts. See below for early dismissal.
Tentative Itinerary for the August 1st Performance at the State Capitol
Dress is band polos and khakis (shorts and tennis shoes), Legacy hats, Colorado hats, or USA hats (apolitical) are all acceptable. No sports hats.
I will share a field trip permission form with you on July 27th. Please return signed by July 30th.
- 7:00AM arrive at LHS
- 7:30AM Depart for Denver
- 8:00AM Arrive at the State Capitol to rehearse with Chatfield HS
- 9:00AM Stage in front of the Capitol
- 9:45AM Event begins
**- 10:00AM National Anthem **
- 11:30AM Event concludes
- 12:30PM Arrive at LHS
BOA Grand Nationals
- We need to confirm flight arrangements for BOA Grand Nationals. Final trip reservations will be DUE August 3rd.
- I will request that the trip registration reopen for one final time so we can add students and adults who need it.
If you are behind on payments for BOA Grand Nationals, or have yet to make a payment, please make arrangements to catch up by August 3rd.
- Please take care of these things so that we can settle flight arrangements, hotel room reservations, and craft the show for the exact number of performers we will take to Indianapolis.
Upcoming Calendar Dates and Changes
- July 31st: We will end practice early to give back a little for the time shared on August 1st at the capitol
August 6th: Practice has been cancelled due to Back to School Night
- August 8th: Tag Day fundraiser and official band photo

For the safety of our students, all chaperones must complete a Raptor background check through the school office.
🗓️ Note: The school office opens on August 3rd. Please get this squared away as soon as possible after they open so you are cleared and ready to go!
Step 2: Grab Your Spots! 🗓️
Take a look at the schedule and claim your preferred dates. Every bit of help makes a massive difference! A sign up with available slots will be sent out soon, or posted on Facebook.

Peach Fundraiser!!
Thank you to all who participated in our peach fundraiser!! Emails were sent earlier this week with order details to help assist students with deliveries.
Peach Day Volunteers Needed:
Our peach delivery/pickup will be Monday, 7/27 in Legacy’s south lot. Please watch for communication about peach pickup procedures and times as we get closer to our delivery date.
